Amitech is seeking a Senior Full Stack Web Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer who can produce beautiful and functional code to develop software solutions that solve complex healthcare transformations facing payers and providers. As a Senior Full Stack Web Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make mission critical software and web development contributions. You’ll have a voice in driving the direction and strategy of the company, and work in an agile environment alongside a rapidly growing team of Engineers, Data Architects, Analysts, and Health Policy Experts.

Responsibilities: What you’ll do:
  • You are a Sr. Full-stack Engineer that is passionate about technology that solves problems. You’ll work with all aspects of Platform and Product Development. Collaborating with all stakeholders, including Hardware, Design Engineering and Content teams to build intuitive services that drive impact and action to save lives. As the Sr. Full-Stack Engineer, it’s essential that you leverage technology based on the problems we are solving.

  • Develop, write and test high quality code that supports new and existing applications
  • Collaborate with a team comprised of both technical and non-technical members in support of development projects
  • Participate in Agile sprint planning and code reviews
  • Innovate software development processes and end user products with a focus on enhancing the customer experience and/or business growth opportunities
 
Qualifications: What you’ll bring to the table:
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills.
  • BS (Masters or PhD preferred) degree in relevant disciplines: Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research/ Optimization, Computer Science, Computational/ Theoretical Physics, Data Science, or Electrical/ Computer Engineering.

  • The Full Stack Software Engineer will develop, write and test code within an Agile development environment. The breadth of development includes the full stack, user interface (UI), middleware and backend layers. This position will collaborate and work closely with the Vice President of Software and Technology, the Product Innovation Manager and co-workers to develop new and enhanced consumer-facing products and product features. The primary systems include eCommerce, CRM and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency working with HTML and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of PHP
  • Knowledge of Test-driven development
  • Knowledge of working within cloud hosting environments (AWS preferred)
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
  • Experience working with Spring
  • Experience working with DevOps methodologies and tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins and similar tools
  • Proficiency working with REST API development
  • Advanced proficiency in coding using Java
Outcome Health
  • Minimum of 5 years with a full stack engineering experience preferably in Ruby on Rails, but open to C/C++, LAMP, Java, JavaScript and Python/Django
  • An obsession with writing high quality, test covered code with a healthy balance of TDD and continuous integration (Jenkins) in an agile, sprint based environment
  • Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)
  • Engineers who have experience with web best practices such as A/B testing, test coverage
  • Enhancing performance (memory, database, disk I/O) issues up and down the software stack on Linux based servers utilizing monitoring frameworks such as Sensu
  • Scaling and operating a large, robust network of remote Android and Linux media platforms using WebSockets and heartbeats
  • Scaling via threading frameworks and caching such as Sidekiq and memcache
  • Interfacing with web services and third party APIs including RESTful
  • Working with both SQL and NoSQL databases such MySQL and MongoDB
  • Basic proficiency in HTML/CSS/Javascript, preferably with administrative interfaces such as ActiveAdmin
  • A desire to write metrics-driven code that will be measured post deployment as part of the dev cycle using frameworks such as MixPanel and Redshift
  • A deep interest in the product development lifecycle, automation when appropriate, and refactoring with CodeClimate
  • Compassion and empathy for your teammates in highly collaborative environment; team player in a fun, respectful, positive environment
  • Open source contributions a big plus
