Job Description:
Amitech is seeking a Java Developer responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of software applications and/or programs. This position works with business and technical staff from all source systems, analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality, design and develop user interfaces to internet applications. The Java Developer will work with project teams to develop, document, educate, articulate, and understand moderately complex business requirements to support strategic and tactical business needs and are well aligned with healthcare industry and our specific enterprise efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems Management (or related degree).
  • A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in application development with emphasis in the areas of Java, C, C++, XML, UNIX AIX, SQL, DB2, Oracle, or other relational database structure.

Preferred Skills:
  • Five (5) years’ experience with front-end web technologies like HTML, JavaScript and CSS along with some background using JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC, Struts 2, or other similar framework.
  • Objective Oriented analysis and design with application development using Java EE platforms.
  • Experience with command line level Java development.
  • Experience with software version control applications such as Git, Vault, RTC, Subversion etc. Preference will be given to candidates with Perforce experience.
  • One (1) year minimum of prior experience participating in large scale projects.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry is preferred.
  • Develop Java based applications as defined in requirements and business solution then create deliverables that are aligned with AHIN processes.
  • Designing and developing of high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance applications.
  • Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Create well designed, testable and efficient code.
  • Document all projects as prescribed by departmental requirements.
  • Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application and review test results.
  • Ensure that a cooperative and productive climate is maintained between user divisions and the project team.
  • Provide input to team regarding certain technologies, system design and architecture design to help improve the AHIN system and transform it into a Java designed application.
  • Ensure that management is informed regarding status of projects assigned.
  • When serving as team leader, direct the activities of the project team to implement and maintain effective applications and keep management updated.
  • Adhere to Corporate and Government Information Systems standards and polices.
  • Continued education with current and new technologies.
