Agile Program Director

Amitech is seeking a Program Director to develop, run, and oversee a key portfolio of client projects. This is a strategic, full-time position.

The Program Director will be responsible for delivering excellent client engagement experiences, serving as a trusted advisor to clients, and developing and growing business with key strategic clients.  The Program Director is directly responsible for managing complex project initiatives in the information management and business analytics arenas, ensuring that project team leads and technical architects are working together to deliver valuable outcomes for our clients.  This role requires 50-80% travel.
  1. Program Management
  • Promote teams to deliver solutions through an agile process that focusses out delivering business value and concrete outcomes
  • Manage project portfolio and project P&L
  • Deliver and/or oversee delivery of multiple projects / solutions
  • Guide and support project team leads and architects
  • Facilitate internal communication and assembling of a solution delivery team for new engagements
  • Consolidate project status and budget information across the project portfolio
  • Manage project risk, project scope, and deliver according to contract terms and conditions
  • Identify needs and opportunities outside of the original project scope and facilitate the decision-making process to reject, postpone, or take on new work as a change order
  • Ensure escalation procedures are documented and communicated to client, consultants, and managers
  • Implement a knowledge management strategy and communicate process and procedures
  • Perform issue management and facilitate issue resolution with proper notification to all affected parties
  • Define and implement a communication plan that meets project and customer expectations
  • Recognize and quickly adapt to business needs that may affect or expand the original scope of work
2. Business Development
  • Develop and expand business within existing accounts
  • Explore additional business opportunities and drive future business through high quality results
  • Take responsibility for project extension and account expansion
  • Use a consultative engagement approach
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client
  • Ensure customer reference-ability and support ongoing relationships
3. Practice Development Support and Participation
  • Assist the EIM Practice Lead and VP Delivery in the work to design, develop, and operationalize a centralized delivery service organization to provide methods, tools, templates, and best practices for the information management (IM) and business analytics (BA) industry, including pre-sales support and presentations
  • Provide advice, consultation, and POC development to the sales organization and clients with regards to the full-range of IM & BA tools and capabilities currently available in-house or externally 
  • Develop proposals, pricings, and statements of work for solutions
  • Interview and hire technical IM and BA staff
  • Collect and provide input into the design, development, implementation and improvement of service offerings and internal processes
  • Work to improve and implement changes to project delivery processes, methodologies, and back office procedures.
4. People Development
  • Build, develop, mentor, and manage project team members
  • Train project leaders in the value, purpose, and process of doing agile data analytics projects
  • Ensure engagement methodology is followed by team from opportunity assessment to project closeout
  • Ensure project management methodology is followed on all client engagements
  • Conduct annual reviews and provide feedback throughout the year on employee performance where required
  • Ensure internal and client specific HR policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to by all team members
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years in project management providing project management and daily operational oversight within a professional services delivery environment
  • Experience running data management, data warehousing, business intelligence, or data analytics projects using agile methods
  • 5+ years of data warehousing, BI, and analytics solution design and development experience including ETL, MDM, Data Quality, and BI tools
  • 3+ years of healthcare industry experience is a plus
  • PMI PMBOK, PMP, or Agile certification is a plus
  • IT Experience: team management, project manager, business analyst, development, data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics
  • In depth understanding of services outsourcing
  • Proven track record of project extension, account expansion, practice development, and people development over multiple clients or engagements
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop a business case, to gather business requirements, and translate them into a customer solution
  • Experience managing, delivering and administrating client professional services agreements including the change management process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, analysis and problem solving skills as well as excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Superior people and personnel management skills
  • Demonstrated advanced project data / risk analysis and correlation / mitigation skills
