Job Description:
Amitech is seeking an Associate Software Administrator accountable for designing, deploying, maintaining, enhancing, operating, and managing the software for all EBI Systems. These activities include assisting in application upgrades, system maintenance, and documentation. These systems interface with multiple internal and external systems. They are critical to ongoing operations of our business and to provide an environment and platform for all new development, software, and ongoing maintenance related to Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) operations.
This position works closely with other key EBI staff, other enterprise system staff, including the Database Administrators, Architects, System Administrators, and others to optimize the performance, interoperability, functionality, productivity, and interaction between EBI Systems and other associated environments and tools for maximum efficiency, performance and cost management.
Minimum requirements:
1. Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 semester hours in computer and/or analytical related studies (pref. degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc.).
Or two (2) years’ minimum prior experience with emphasis in the skills requirement noted below

Skills Required:
  • Software architecture, hardware architecture, database architecture, web based applications, server based applications, JavaScript, shell scripting, SQL, and UNIX Operating Systems.
  • One (1) year experience using desktop PC, Outlook e-mail, basic MS Office tools (MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have healthcare related experience.
  • Possess and apply effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Principal Activities or Accountabilities (Essential Functions of Job)
1. Ensure that the Supervisor and/or senior member of the Software Administration team is adequately informed concerning the status of all assigned tasks.
2. Ensure that all assigned tasks are completed accurately and by the assigned target dates.
3. Become knowledgeable of company functions and business logic to the level necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.
4. Enhance skills including analysis, software design, scripting, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation.
5. Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify project objectives.
6. Write and/or update documentation to describe software environment, implementations, and infrastructure.
7. Use standard application design principles to create appropriate logical and physical application designs to promote efficiency and code reuse.
8. Follow corporate standards in naming conventions, security, and interface design.
9. Thoroughly test software upgrades including maintenance of test plans.
10. Ensure positive working relationships exist with all customers, co-workers and management staff.
11. Become familiar with the EBI Systems and Informatics Support systems, processes, applications and operational usage of the applications.
12. Document project via web based project tracking system, in program code/scripts and other programming, and via software documentation.
13. Ensure that a cooperative and productive climate is maintained with all internal and external contacts.
14. Contribute to and support Enterprise-wide undertakings and commitments, including area performance goals and standards.
15. Contribute to and support the Enterprise strategic and operational planning process to include total quality management philosophies.
16. Become knowledgeable of, and adhere to Corporate and EBI Systems and Informatics Support standards and policies.
